spring through late summer.

 Retirees Corner

Local 8 Retirees get together
monthly to share a meal, socialize,
play cards and plan events
throughout the year. Meetings
are typically held on the second
Wednesday of the month, usually
in the union hall beginning at noon.
A potluck luncheon is included and
the meetings sometimes include
guest speakers, 50/50 raffles
and more.

Those attending are asked
to bring their own table service
and usually a side dish, salad
or dessert to share. Check
the schedule for details.

All Local 8 retirees and their
significant other are
welcome.

Dropkick Murphys Concert in Columbus
Reserve your ticket now!

 Boston punk rock band Dropkick Murphys, known for their music supporting the working-class environment, will be performing in Columbus on Sunday, June 9.

Party with the band before the show at R Bar, located at 413 N. Front St. in Columbus. The pre-party starts at 4 pm with doors opening for the concert at 7 pm.

Local 8 has a limited number of tickets available to Local 8 members and will be providing two Lakefront buses for the trip back and forth to the show.

The buses will be leaving Local 8 on Sunday at 1:00 pm sharp; please be on the bus by 12:30 pm. After the concert, the buses will leave Columbus at midnight.

Retirees Club

Local 8 Retirees will get together on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at noon for a potluck and meeting.

A representative from the Toledo Electrical Welfare Fund will be available to answer questions.

Please bring a salad, side dish or dessert to share.

 IBEW Bowling Tournament 

The 69th Annual IBEW Bowling Tournament will be held in
Augusta, GA from May 31-June 2, 2013. Local 1579 will host the event.

IBEW Rattlesnake Run

The IBEW Rattlesnake Run will
take place on Saturday,
July 27, 2013 at 10 am.

Due to safety concerns, there will be
a limit on those participating in
the run. So register early!

WGA Meetings Scheduled

Local 8 is hosting the WGA Tournament in August 2013. Meetings have bee scheduled to plan the tournament and discuss fundraising.

The meetings will be held at 6 pm on the third Monday of the month, prior to the Regular Union meetings, in the Presentation Room at the JATC.

Local 8 is hosting the Wireman’s Golf Association outing this year from August 13-16.

Entry fees and scrambles fees are due at Eight Federal Credit Union by April 30. Entry fees are $200 and scrambles fees are $60 per person or $180 per team. When making your payments, please keep the entry fees and the scrambles fees separate.
