Michigan Career Transition Program
Michigan State Representative Kathy Angerer has
informed us of a program for displaced workers called the "Career Transition
Program." This program was
developed by the Michigan
Credit Union League in partnership with the Michigan Dept. of Labor & Economic
Growth. It provides some $40 million in low interest educational loans to
be used in vocational schools, trade schools, and accredited colleges for
recently displaced or soon-to-be displaced workers to receive advanced training.
To be eligible, you must be at least 21 years of age, have at least two years of
prior full-time work experience, and be a member in good standing of a
participating credit union. For more information, visit
www.ctpforcumembers.org, or call 1-800-285-WORKS.
