The United Way of Monroe/Lenawee County is looking for a Labor Union Hero for 2018 in Monroe County.
The concept for the Everyday Heroes recognition has grown out of a desire to develop an event that is closely related to the mission of the United Way of Monroe/Lenawee Counties - to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of Monroe County’s communities. This is a great way to celebrate the spirit of humanitarianism and honor those individuals who have shown courage, kindness and unselfish character by their acts of heroism in the Monroe County community.
This is done through the simple, yet powerful, process of one person putting his or her needs aside to help another.
Awards are given in ten categories: Fire, Law Enforcement, Medical Professional, Animal Rescue, Workplace Good Samaritan, Adult Good Samaritan, Youth Good Samaritan, Local Military, Community Hero, and Labor/Union.
A Heroes Advisory committee of community members selects the award winners. Awards will be presented at the dinner to be held Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at LaRoy’s Hall in LaSalle.
Proceeds will go to benefit the community services offered by the United Way of Monroe /Lenawee County.
If you know someone who is an Everyday Hero, please contact Jake Meyers in the Local 8 Business office 419-666-8920.
