Referral System

The IBEW Local 8 referral system is how union electricians in our jurisdiction connect with available work.

Current job calls are posted daily and updated throughout the day as positions are filled. Members can view open calls, check their book position and submit bids — all through the online referral system. To access job calls and place your bid, log in using your member credentials.

Calls change daily — bid on and confirm every call through the online referral system.

Listings above are a sample of the kinds of calls dispatched. For the live, up-to-the-minute board — including full job descriptions, reporting details and bid deadlines — log in to the online referral system.

Plan Your Day

Daily Referral Schedule

The daily referral process follows a set schedule. Members should plan accordingly.

7:30 a.m.

The dispatcher calls members who have bid on Book 1.

9:30 a.m. — Book 1 Day Hall

New calls are filled with Book 1 members that signed the out-of-work list that morning.

30 Min After Book 1 Day Hall

Dispatcher calls members who have bid on Book 2.

1:00 p.m. — Book 2 Day Hall

New calls are filled with Book 2 members that signed the out-of-work list that morning.

All bids must be submitted through the website. No exceptions.
