    Welcome to Local 8!

    IBEW Local 8 represents more than 2000 members in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan providing skilled craftsmen in the electrical construction industry including commercial, industrial, alternative energy, instrumentation, residential and voice-data-video.

    Our apprenticeship training programs offer students on-the-job training while attending class at our state-of-the-art Joint Apprenticeship Training Center. Providing highly skilled electricians for our customers is the goal of the IBEW. 

    Members also have the opportunity to take journeyman education classes in order to improve their skills and to continue to provide customers with the best trained workforce.

    Local 8's jurisdiction covers Defiance, Fulton, Hancock, Henry, Lucas, Ottawa, Paulding, Putnam, Sandusky, Seneca, Williams and Wood Counties in Ohio and Hillsdale, Lenawee and Monroe Counties in Michigan.

    IS RECIPROCAL.  IF YOU ARE MUST CURRENT, YOU WILL NEED TO BRING A 
    PRINT OUT OF YOUR MUST PROFILE TO THE JOBSITE. YOU SHOULD ALSO BRING WITH YOU
    2 FORMS OF ID.  IF A JOB REQUIRES OSHA 10 OR 30, A TOLEDO, MICHIGAN, OR FIRE ALARM 
    LICENSE OR SPECIAL SKILLS, IT WILL BE POSTED.

    National Disease Emergency Response Agreement (NDERA), the Local 8
    & NECA Memorandum of Understanding addressing the COVID19
    pandemic and info on Ohio & Michigan unemployment during the virus outbreak.
    If you were on a job and plan to return, you do not need to come to the hall and sign the book per the 
    National Disease Emergency Response Agreement.
    If you are filing an unemployment claim, please refer to the website home page or the mobile app ‘What’s New’ for the  
    Ohio and Michigan unemployment insurance during the COVID19 outbreak.

    Book signing will be in the main hall, along with a referral drop box.
    We have gone to a temporary no-nick system.
    You are encouraged to file ERP online.
    Please use the online services and phone for your needs on the entire campus. 
    We are trying to limit in-person contact and comply with social distancing.
                                                ****REFERRAL SYSTEM****
    * At 8:00 am the Dispatcher will call those who bid on Book 1 and those in the Day Hall.
    * If calls are filled by the Bid List/Day Hall no one will receive nicks. 
    * If calls have not been filled off the Bid List/Day Hall, then the Dispatcher will begin calling
    the Top 20 on Book 1. Only people in the Top 20 will receive nicks if they do not accept a call.
    * We will update the website and job line as early as possible with any jobs remaining.
    * Followed by calling those who bid on Book 2 and those in the Day Hall.
    * Followed by calling the Top 20 on Book 2. Only people in the Top 20 will receive nicks if they
    did not accept a call.
    All calls will still be filled in order by Book, Page & Line number. If calls are filled by the Bid List/
    Day Hall, no one will receive nicks.
    **Online bidding is now enabled** To bid online, find position, page and line # on the book
    or to resign, click on the BID button located at the bottom of this page.
    Remember to call the job line to bid (419-666-6915) and bidding ends at 7:30 am!
    If you forget to bid, you need to come to the hall and sign the day sheet.
