Local 8 Retirees get together monthly to share a meal, socialize, play cards and plan events throughout
the year. Meetings are typically held on the second Wednesday of the month, usually in the union hall
beginning at noon.
A potluck luncheon is included and the meetings sometimes include guest speakers, 50/50 raffles and
more. Those attending are asked to bring their own table service and usually a side dish, salad or dessert
to share. Check the schedule for details.

The Retiree's Club will hold their Holiday luncheon on Wednesday, December 12 with a catered chicken dinner. Fred Malczewski will prove the dinner. Entertainment and door prizes will also be included.

Electrical Workers Minority Caucus
The EWMC meets the fourth Tuesday of the month at 7 pm at Local 8's hall.
All Local 8 members in good standing are welcome to attend.

Latin Labor Council
The Latin Labor Council meets on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 7 pm at Local 8.
The next meeting will be Thursday, December 13, 2018. Everyone is welcome.

The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers has created a new opportunity for our younger
members called the RENEW Initiative.
Reach out and Engage Next-gen Electrical Workers (RENEW) was established to encourage
younger members to become more involved with our union and our Labor Movement.
The committee is for IBEW members aged 35 years of age and younger.
The RENEW Initiative meets monthly on Thursdays at 6 pm.
All Local 8 members are encouraged to attend.
The next meeting will be on Thursday, December 20, 2018.
IBEW Sister Meeting
Local 8 Sisters gather periodically to get to know each other, discuss volunteer opportunities in our
area and to talk about the possibility of traveling together in the future to find work.
It is an opportunity to unite with fellow sisters in the local who may have never met on the job site.
The last meeting of the year is December 9, 2018.
